Finished reinstalling the shed off-grid solar system. Much cleaner and properly wired this time. The battery is too small for the system, but enough for the current workload! Thanks again to super mouse @twigmouse for help figuring out how to do this right!
@thumper @twigmouse Oh cool, I’ve started getting into solar, too. Are the black boxes fuses?
@opsnlops They could be, but I used breakers instead. I considered disconnect switches and fuses and then realized the breakers would serve the same purpose in one device. :)

@thumper Ah, yeah, that makes sense. I don't have any in-line right now, but my load is like 850ma for some outside lighting. :)

I've been thinking that I should get some sort of fuse in line, but I'm not sure what to use for 12v. Maybe a car fuse? Hummmm

@opsnlops Fuses are to protect the wire, so if it's say 12AWG wire for example, that'd be 25A max, 20A nominal, I would use a 20A fuse/breaker. I used this one from amazon, you can save a couple bucks if you get a multipack of like blade fuse holders for auto applications.
