@flexghost i’m a nebraskan and senator cavanaugh, along with senator hunt and senator fredrickson, are really giving me hope in a session that has one priority- targeting trans youth. (plus the abortion ban and permitless closed-carry bills may never get final approval!…)

@grayperson it’s weird when things that are popular with the majority have to resort to guerrilla like tactics … it’s almost as if the majority cares more about decorum than rights. And yes, people like these give me hope too!

@flexghost actually all of the bills i mentioned are unpopular statewide (per hart research, holland children’s institute) but state politicians live in a different world.

@flexghost yeah you pretty much hit the nail on the head lol. school choice, or so it’s called, is unpopular, but my state senator (who also “wrote” the anti-trans bill being filibustered!) probably can’t hear her constituents over the ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS betsy devos paid to get her elected (57k to her campaign, 115k against her opponent)
