Then when Democrats take the reins, Republicans blame them for being big spenders.

@rbreich We've a similar problem in the UK. There's a long-standing myth that the Conservative Party keeps saving the economy after every Labour government, but if you actually look at the figures it's invariably the other way around.

Guess which media baron has been pushing that narrative?
