On today's expulsion of the two Black representatives, but not the white rep, Elie Mystal summed it up pretty darn well: "Tennessee has now given the entire country an object lesson in critical race theory better than any AP history course ever could have. Everybody sees it now. Everybody knows it now. Everybody gets exactly what is going on."

U sure the underlying matter "gun control" would have fared any better if the white lawmaker had been expelled as well?
@tropenfisch This was not about the protest or push for gun control; it was a blatant display of systemic racism. If three people do the exact same thing, two are black, one is white and the only ones who are punished are the black men, there is only one conclusion for me. Those white Republicans in the TN House don't like having smart, young black men speaking truth to power so they got rid of them. However, the GOP in TN is too stupid to realize they have empowered both of these men beyond their wildest dreams. White supremacy never went away; it's always there, just below the surface and yesterday, the world saw it on full display. I suspect both of these men will be returned to their seats in the House, but more importantly, they now have a national platform on gun violence and other important issues. Anyone who believes racism is over is seriously delusional. To expel them for peaceful protest was an excuse to punish/silence these black men who dared to speak out.
