My mother took me up to her friend's house while they socialized. The friend's boyfriend was an animal trainer. He had a bunch of dogs in kennels. One of them was the *biggest* dobie I'd ever seen! I let him sniff my fingers through the chain, and he was super friendly and licky and wonderful. Then I had to go back in...
and he nearly tore the kennel apart trying to get back to me.
His name was Cy.
@Miriamm I figured that if he were a guard dog, anyone would be able to get in... but if the tried to leave he'd tackle them and sit on them and lick their face until they stopped struggling and went back to petting him.
I've loved rotties ever since.
