Nobody I care about is sneering at me (to my knowledge). As for people fighting for their country, you're wrong there too. The antiwar movement had much to do with the receipts on that one, which haven't been matched in terms of American soldier deaths since. So long.

@QasimRashid @Katrags What history will say is that there was no draft after Vietnam -- no compulsion to serve. It's true that the mortality rate was higher due to later advances in medicine, as is always the case. It is also the case that the numbers of soldiers who served in Vietnam dwarfed any conflict that followed, and perhaps all of them combined. My generation was not a monolith of opinion or action, nor is any generation. I don't know you, but judging from this colloquy, you are full of unreasoning spite. May it pass quickly.
