@NovaNaturalist Not the best photo, what with the leaf placement, but is this a very large peeper? Or, if not, do you know what?

Hi @PhilMoscovitch - thanks for asking. I'm better with plants and insects & will happily learn from others who know better...

There are 8 species of frogs and toads in NS. Sowhich one? Toads have a warty skin. Pickerel, Leopard & Mink Frogs are spotty,. Bullfrogs are fist sized.Spring Peepers are the size of your thumbnail, Wood Frogs the sized of your thumb. Judging by the size of the leaves (see, I'm better at botany!), this is a Wood Frog.

@NovaNaturalist Thanks! I have seen peepers and they are much smaller, but it was the colour and what I could see of the markings that made me wonder about this one.
@PhilMoscovitch Well I'd definitely like to here from any #herpetologists #amphibian experts. Being new to Nova Scotia, I still have lots to learn. But I'd be surprised if Spring Peepers get this big (its, what, 6cm?) nor quite this early.
