Imagers of the universe! What is everyone's preferred stacking software? #astrodon
@AwesomeAstronomy I pretty much tried all of them but ultimately settled to PixInsight. It gave me the best results
@Cpl43uk @adfr @Siril_Official what are favourite and worst features?
@adfr @AwesomeAstronomy @Siril_Official best features are (a) works on a Mac (b) Free (c) Serious toolset (not a toy) (d) expanding all the time with new capabilities. The worst thing are limited support via YouTube tutorials (getting better) and support documentation (but again getting better). Also i would like a way to automate stacking when you have master fits (rather than all the subs). However i can’t believe what i do get based on people’s free time 👏 👏 👏 🙇‍♂️
@Cpl43uk @adfr @AwesomeAstronomy
All calibration steps can be automated.
About the documentation, a new documentation is available and covers all software feature.
@Siril_Official @adfr @AwesomeAstronomy would be nice if an automated script that dealt with master fits could be added along with the other OSC Preprocessing options 😉🙂
@Cpl43uk @adfr @AwesomeAstronomy and how we guess the name of you masters, the path of you masters, etc....
@AwesomeAstronomy @Siril_Official @adfr - true but could insist on a folder and a naming convention like the subs?
@Cpl43uk @AwesomeAstronomy @adfr write you own scripts, it will be easier.
