Having a weird night in #SilverCity. Came to see #ballet at the university, and was amazed at the extent and persistence of the phones being out and in use.

Lovely dance, costumes and design; constant distraction from the goddamn phones. Discretely slipped out and found the house staff to suggest a reminder of #theatre etiquette. The answer was essentially oh, there’s nothing we can do about it so it’s cool. Total capitulation. First time I got that in a trad theatre setting in 40+ years. So…

…I didn’t press my complaint. Their house, their rules. It seemed like it was accommodating the wrong parties but whatever. I politely left, since I wasn’t enjoying the experience at this #theatre.

Then I went to a pizza slice restaurant that told me they had no more pizza slices. Ooooookay.

Now I’m in a pub and a man is having a medical emergency. The paramedics are here. Guy is conscious, talking to EMTs and apologetic, but clearly faint and in pain.

@GilaJeff I mean…. Right?? Felt a tiny bit annoyed for me but horrified on behalf of the performers, designers, etc.
