so a couple of years back, my co-parent played an april fool joke on her wife by putting a leek (the vegetable) in the bath, and then going downstairs and saying "oh no, I think there's a leak in the bath" to her wife so she'd come look at it & see the vegetable and laugh etc

so this year her wife was like "hey kid, what should we do to play a joke on mummy this year" and he thought about it for a moment and then said "we should put a cucumber in the bath, and then say 'mummy, the bath is a bit cucumbery'"
