Played the PC-98 games for the first time. I didn't expect them to be so much harder than EoSD/PCB, but they are really fast paced in comparison, and there's no focus mode in SoEW/PoDD...

And often it's hard to even see projectiles, but this one might actually be because of my screen... VA does have severe ghosting specifically with completely black pixels, and if you have a white projectile on top of black bg - which Windows games basically never have but the PC-98 do fairly often - the projectile will look behind where it actually is.

Plus not a fan of the death lasers in the stage 3 boss battle in SoEW... I'm not sure if there is even a way to deal with those other than just memorizing where they appear each time. Unless it's yet again the screen ghosting and they do have a few frames where they are visible but not deadly yet?..

Loving the music, as always, and Reimu's conversation with Meira is delightfully gay.

Correction: stage 3 boss background is not actually black. So then those lasers are indeed just that fast. And yeah, they do have a phase where the laser is visible but is not deadly yet, but it's literally a couple frames, my reaction is not that fast.
Or maybe it's the jerky framerate combined with everything moving so fast... But idk, I have a problem with losing track of projectiles in the PC-98 games that I don't have in the Windows ones, I'm not sure why exactly that is. Like I get hit by something that I didn't see it at all even though it was there and, well, it was visible. But I still didn't see it somehow.

Slowly getting used to it, I can get to stage 4 with no game overs.

And I noticed yet another distracting thing. Those sparks that come out of enemies when they are hit look similar to projectiles and fly pretty far before disappearing.

You don't even need that many enemies on screen for it to become busy, though having more enemies doesn't help, of course.

It's very well visible in the demo replays too. For example, in the one I attached. Do you see that projectile at 0:13-0:14? I honestly can't notice it until it's dodged, and if this wasn't a replay I would 100% have gotten hit there.
