@avaloniaui no way!
@jan no way indeed. Think about the date here in Europe 😘
@avaloniaui That's even more fun...I've just wakeup and see VS2022 running on MacOS, you guys rocks! Does it work out of the box or was it a lot of hacking to be done? Does it compile anything? @shanselman check this out!
@jan wait until you see it running on an iPhone 🤯
@avaloniaui sounds like a fun challenge! 🔥 So XPF apps can run on iOS?
@jan 👀 not officially. I should stop talking 🙈
@avaloniaui Wow! Man I need to send you guys that email...we are desperately in need to run our WPF app on IPad 🙂
@avaloniaui we can dream, one day we may get a real version on VS on Mac.
@avaloniaui Was Avalonia UI involved to create this, or just Photoshop?
@bitbonk you think we’d release a poorly faked photo on aprils fools day?! 🤭
@avaloniaui Damn, I am pretty sure it *would* work.
@avaloniaui (At least the UI stuff.)

@bitbonk we’re pretty sure it wouldn’t without a lot of work. 30 years of legacy components would make it difficult.

Just moving Visual Studio to CoreCLR would be a huge undertaking.

@avaloniaui Yes that's the hard part. But it seems the UI is pretty much all WPF.
@bitbonk @avaloniaui no, there’s a ton of WinForms, native Win32, hosted Html in a browser, etc. Also VS has a ton of native code that uses COM. Win32, ATL/MFC, etc. Getting existing VS to run on Mac is impossible.
