Got a DM on Twitter so I logged in there for first time in ages. I was greeted with an alert saying I must disable two-factor auth unless I buy a blue checkmark. What a dumpster fire. “The beatings will continue until morale improves!”
@Carrington Who uses SMS 2fa anymore, isn't that like 3+ years old school
@AstiStewart There was no other option. Obvs I would rather use Authy etc., but the idea that there’s literally no 2fa available if I don’t pay for a vanity checkmark is galling (or would be if I still wanted to use Twitter).
@Carrington Really I thought they were offering authenicator as 2fa oprion just ditching SMS. Regardless, interest in the bird is next to nil now
@Carrington @AstiStewart I have an authy 2fa for Twitter.
I never use it, but I have it.
I don't want to delete my account because I don't like people removing things from the Internet. But I also don't want anyone to use my account for me.
