@twelvetones yeah, same. i wound up joining Hachyderm, and a lot of the in-network chatter reminded me a *lot* of early twitter. this originally got me excited, but then i read a tweet yesterday that reminded me that back then, a lot of us late genx/early millennials also cared a lot more about tech and the stuff on early twitter then than now
@twelvetones less clear to me now that just because we’re here, that we’ll get “there” (read: a sustainable source of partially crowd-sourced news and information for many topics)
@slpsys I'd be fine if it ended up something distinct, too, more like a Metafilter vibe or whatever. but right now half my feed is people sending the same content to both here and Twitter, so it seems really redundant. I guess I just need to unfollow those folks
