In 1987 this movie was my jam.

It's unfortunate because it means I get nostalgic about a movie that leans into misogyny, r*pe culture, anti-fat bias... I used to think it did right by the one fat character, but no. Swing and a miss.

Does everyone have a movie like this? Where you appreciate the storytelling, worldbuilding, direction, creature makeup (pretty good for 1987)... and you still watch it every Halloween even though it makes you less happy & more sad/angry every time?

Oh I forgot the casual homophobia peppered throughout. Actually forgot about it until I watched the movie again literal decades later for Halloween, nearly choked on my popcorn. Shane Black makes fun movies (think this is the first script he ever sold that got greenlit) but he's always been trash.
