Right? I remember my parents buying a car every 3-4 years and taking us on at least 2 domestic or 1 international vacation every year that *wasn't* to visit family on just my dad's salary, and they were frugal! No cable TV, no designer clothes, no second phone line for the teenagers, etc.

I haven't been anywhere that isn't to visit family in 7-8 years, and I have made exactly one vehicle purchase since 2006. I also am not paying for kids, and I'm in a 2-income relationship.
