When you drive in your city, how often do you use GPS/satnav systems? I’ve crafted a simple poll but am interested in more context than that so please reply with some color. In particular I’m curious if you use GPS in familiar places more for the traffic optimization or because you just don’t use the navigation in your brain anymore. Or any other thoughts this brings up for you.

@baratunde I use it in familiar areas if any freeway travel is involved. I don’t always follow its route. In fact, I silence the voice altogether to minimize distractions. It’s a way to expand my situational awareness. It’s a good way to explore new routes becae you literally can’t get too lost (as long as you’re in an area where the mapping is solid. That’s definitely not everywhere. )
