An interesting aspect of #AI is that once something makes it into the dataset, it likely will be used to train AIs for the next hundred years or longer

Basically every person who’s ever posted something that can be scraped will have directly influenced the weights in a neural network used by people around the globe, now and for generations to come

It’s almost like we’re all collectively raising a child to be our legacy

I highly doubt it. Eventually the web-scraping-based datasets will be so degenerate that it leads to new innovations, probably as one step further towards AGI (i.e. training without huge datasets, as is the case for all living creatures).
