i have not been doing much on socials. i think that's b/c i'm still recovering from the toll that twitter's trolling & toxicity & relentless negativity took on me!

but i feel quite out of the loop, and i miss the local connections that twitter fostered. (not the toxic stuff... but the rest.)

@RachelFriend
I too miss the local connections from previous social platforms. (Well, I guess the non-local ones too!)

I'm hopeful we can rebuild something better using these new tools and systems. I'm confident the foundations are rock-solid here in the fediverse - worthy of long term investment - but it is what we make it. What do you think it'll take to get the #Boulder twitter crowd of yesteryear to engage with us here?

@thomasw I so wish I knew! I miss that local connection and also feel as an elected that I'm missing out on connecting with constituents by disembarking from twitter. But I also don't want to patronize Twitter bc it felt too toxic for me personally and for so many others, that engaging there felt like sanctioning something icky (and like I would only really stay on twitter for reasons that weren't beneficial to greater good). But IDK how to make "here" happen!
