Either there’s rule of law or there isn’t. It’s not a question of the office someone held or their ability to incite violence.
@StevenBeschloss I've worked with refugees (mostly African) and rule of law is one of the things they appreciate most about the United States. Up until recently it's something I took for granted.
@StevenBeschloss There is a rule of law, but those with power unfortunately are, and always have been exempt.

@StevenBeschloss

Although…

their ability to incite violence can certainly play into restrictions placed on them pretrial.

And the amount of bail. 👍🏽

Don't try to replace something with nothing.
@StevenBeschloss There isn’t and hasn’t been the rule of law in this country. If your skin isn’t white, you are prey. If you’re white, you are the predator. And I say that as a white woman with white sons, but the “system” isn’t about justice or law, it’s about power.

@StevenBeschloss 100% If laws only apply to some, they are not laws anymore... they are recommendations. And people will act on that according to their own personal interests, instead of collective organization and collective well being. Lawlessness is a path to chaos.

If computer networks didn't use protocols, they would literally not be able to accomplish a SINGLE thing. They would be completely useless and worthless. Every person should spend a month doing IT. Then they would know.

@StevenBeschloss @JenX By this definition, there isn’t. The only rule of law is for those without money, political power, or access. Those with any of those things are completely exempt and the people with the ability to correct it are simply refusing
