I am pretty sold on the usefulness of chatgpt right now I just want it to cite sources so i can judge a bit better. 2 questions I recently had and couldn't answer quickly with Google but chat got gave convincing answers to immediately:

1) highest quality format for 4k video files that Roku and apple tv can both direct play using their hardware and codec suites.

2) how much electricity it will take to keep my house at 70f using an electric air source heat pump.

for the second it walked me through calculating heat load and then gave the answer.

the first seems to be correct and the second sounds right. pretty cool.

I also got it to give me a PowerShell script to parse through my media library and output the most common extensions. I'm becoming more convinced that AI is going to be a daily thing.

I was talking to a farmer friend who helps a charity for unhoused folks. he was trying to get data on the human impact of encampments in riparian zones and spent a lot of time researching this. we asked chat gpt and it gave an answer that aligned with his research immediately. Pretty stunning.
