Jens OhligI wish more people understood that "I want the computer to generate a natural language text that sounds like a plausible answer to a question about x" and "I want the computer to answer a question about x" are two very different problems.

Chat GPT sets off all my teacher alarm bells… it’s the student who is completely baffled but is too proud or frightened to admit it and so desperately tries to figure out the answer they think the teacher wants to hear.
