Florida bill would ban young girls from discussing periods in school

The bill could be amended, Republican state Rep. Stan McClain said, after he acknowledged that it would prohibit talk of menstrual cycles until sixth grade.

@DataChick JFC. True story: my maternal grandmother (this would be pre WWII) literally thought she was dying because no matter be had ever explained the menstrual cycle to her. My mom as a result gave us every booklet she could find at the doctor's office and told us to ask about anything we didn't understand (I was probably 10 at the time).
