Only three episodes actually revolve around I.M.P. being hired to assassinate a target. In the pilot, they murder a child. In Episode 1, Moxxie (accidentally) gets a family's house bombed by the cops. In Episode 4, they kill Lyle.
Episodes 2 and 5 are pretty much just bodyguarding Stolas. Episode 3 is random murder resulting from beef over a parking spot. Episode 6 is consequences that don't come to fruition because Stolas & plot armor.
Episode 7 is just angsty Stolitz garbage that is pretty much immediately resolved in Season 2.

I haven't even watched S2E3 in any capacity, not even to YTP it, but I have seen some of the background art, and it makes me feel bad for whoever had to draw all those dildos, and whoever had to composite the animations onto those backgrounds.
That is entirely too many dildos. It appears that Moxxie's dad is rich, but come on, that's not a good investment at all.
I just found out that I was RIGHT to worry for those compositors. The sheer volume of dildos that had to be censored so the episode could be on YouTube literally crashed two crewmembers' computers. #HelluvaBoss #HelluvaBossCritical

In this AU/rewrite, Stolas is not the provider of a grimoire to IMP - instead, it is another imp who has been amassing grimoire spells, able to do so due to the lack of proper security and regulations around them.

Child Stolas is gullible enough to allow Blitzø to steal many valuables from his home. Any given palace servant imp could ask to put away his grimoire and then go photocopy it before putting it away - and this goes for any given naive royal demon with a grimoire, child or adult. So, it's not unreasonable to assume that spells would be copied down and sold underground. Where else would Verosika & co. get human disguises & access to the living world?
The succubi in Episode 3 can use grimoire spells such as human world travel and disguises with no grimoire.
