Staff Software Engineer, Front-End Platform
Ready To Be a Titan? ServiceTitan is looking for a Staff Front-End Engineer to join the Front-End Platform team. You will design, build, maintain and evolve foundational front-end systems and tools that help our product teams to build smart, compelling and intuitive client-side applications for our end users. This is an exciting role for an engineer to come in and develop the major client-side features in a rapidly growing, fast-paced startup. You will be primarily responsible for creating and maintaining the foundational front-end ecosystem and underlying tools used by all ServiceTitan product engineering teams. Solutions you deliver will increase productivity of ServiceTitan engineers working on front-end applications. You will have an opportunity to innovate and introduce new technologies that improve the development experience of hundreds of engineers on a daily basis. As our Staff Software Engineer, Front End, you will: Architect Solutions: Architect efficient and reusable front-end solutions driving complex web applications and build out our micro frontend architecture Revamp: Participate in re-imagining our client-side application architecture by building tooling that will modernize and improve the performance of our frontend build stack. Problem-solve: Solve challenges on the edge of old and new front-end technologies Develop & Manage: Develop and maintain sufficient test coverage for all features that allows our engineers to build large SPAs with pages and features deployed and delivered independently from each other Maximize Efficiency: Optimize performance heavy parts of existing applications by using Real User Monitoring to find bottlenecks and improve the performance of web applications Guide: Mentor less experienced developers To be successful in this role, you'll need: Very strong understanding of core Javascript without third-party libraries and/or frameworks; especially prototypical inheritance and the orchestration of multiple asynchronous API calls via callbacks, promises, and async/await. Very strong understanding of ES6+ additions to Javascript and their relationship to pre-ES6 concepts Experience creating or maintaining large React applications (over 100 components) with hooks, MobX/Redux, and React Router Experience with Webpack, esbuild, rollup and other front-end build and bundling tooling Experience with performance profiling and real-time user monitoring systems Experience maintaining technical documentation Knowledge of commonly used algorithms and data structures 10+ years of JavaScript experience involving: heavy use of core, framework agnostic JavaScript heavy use of one of the well-known UI libraries (React, Angular, Knockout.js, etc.) building reusable UI components interaction with external APIs asynchronous programming + promises solving UI-related performance problems 5+ years of HTML/CSS experience 5+ years working in any strongly-typed server-side web application framework Be Human With Us: Being human isn’t about checking every box on a list. The expected salary range for this role is between $137,000 - $196,000. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
