Every year someone wins my “you are at a globally televised event wearing a dress that cost more than most people’s monthly income. Why does your hair look like you just rolled out of bed?“ Award, and this year, it’s Kerry Condon. Her contemptuously undone hair is offensive.

@alisonborealis that is exactly what that undone thing is appropriate for. The fashion people on E! all seemed to love it, but there is a difference between simple and sloppy.

@MuseofIre Sandra Oh’s hair was intentionally messy, but Conlan’s hair felt like someone just forgot a brush because when you saw it close up, there were parts that just we’re not even combed at all, not just weirdly backcombed or chunked up to appear casual.
Sarken@amaditalks I am in love with that dress but I am so sad about everything else. I don't really mind the hair, but combined with the relative lack of jewelry and the boring makeup... at least one of those things needs to be taken up a few notches so she looks like she's *at* the Oscars and not just trying on dresses *for* the Oscars.
@sarken close up, there were parts of her hair that were just not combed.
