I thought the #media was in deep shit the moment they wrote about every "controversial" tweet. Yes, some of those stories were -- and remain -- necessary, but the low-hanging-fruit trashy clickbait content strategy has become commonplace among big outlets.
Fast-forward 12, 13 years or so, and so many publications are writing about garbage #TikTok trends.
I work in this industry. I've loved this industry. This industry is deep trouble, and the aforementioned reason is just one of many problems.
