Halfway through rewriting what I had so far of my WIP, changing it from 3rd past to 1st present. This is such a weird book. Usually I have a sense of whether it's good or not, but with this one, maybe because it's so different to what I normally write, I have literally no idea. This could be utter dreck or Booker Prize material or anywhere in between, and I have no way of telling.

Thinking seriously of using the CWA's MS critique service on this one. Β£300 for it, but could be worth it. #writing

@QuokkaMocha I'm working the other way - 1st to 3rd. You have my sympathy, it can be brutal.

What made you change?

@DebbyTaylorLane Just a feeling that the book wasn't working. It felt as if it lacked character, which was why I switched to first so it was much more the MC's POV on things. I do think it's working better than the first draft. What made you switch to third?

@QuokkaMocha That's awesome. Good for you, a) for realizing and b) doing something about it.

Originally it was because I wanted to get more information in. But then I've ended up writing close-third which is still in tight with the characters, so that didn't work. BUT I have ended up adding a second POV which has allowed that information to flow.
