"Are our memories so short that we learned nothing from the 2008 Wall Street crash? Have we learned nothing from the savings & loan disaster of the 1990s or the thievery of Wells Fargo," @SenSanders 5 years ago opposing the bill deregulating Silicon Valley Bank. @rbreich uh, yes. Why would we start learning from history now?
@rbreich I have not seen a mention of SBF/ Alameda mentioned in this scenario yet.
@rbreich yup. And Warren. They warned us.
@rbreich Someone once said "history repeats" and that says volumes about human nature. In fact, we are seeing Putin follow in Hitler's footsteps and have the courage to stop him.
@rbreich For the wealthy, these previous financial disasters are just models for the future. These occur cyclically as permitted by the rest of us who keep forgetting about the need for a regulated capitalism

@rbreich Being right about the obvious has the dangerous effect of gratifying the righteous indignation people bear toward the Republican/2 Party tyranny.

Being right doesn’t effect change. Changing people’s minds effects change. Lashing out in anger only makes MAGAs feel justifies in their contempt for sensibility.

Love is the only way to convince people to do what is good and right.
