KaldannanReally, REALLY hating the shitty techbro garbage #Discord keeps trying to push on its users with little to no consent beforehand. No, I don't want your fucking crypto. No, I don't want my shit to be scraped and fed to an AI. No, I don't care that you claim this shit will be opt-in only, because YOU'RE ALREADY DOING IT.
One of the communities I'm in has already mostly migrated over to #Guilded. Yes, Roblox owns it, but apparently that's all(?), and seem to be keeping their hands off it. Yes, both are turd piles, but there are unfortunately no other viable alternatives for larger communities. Yet.
In the meantime, #Guilded has been fun to poke around on, and I like that several features that are paygated on #Discord are free on #Guilded, like the ability to use cross-server emoji. The mobile app, however, is in SERIOUS need of refinement; and #Guilded's own website isn't even optimised for mobile. My hope is they'll pay more attention to them with more people looking to swap over now.
Fuck capitalism.
