I have the misfortune to reside in the London borough of Havering.

This is how stupid their council people are:
- ignore email correspondence relating to a maintenance issue
- consequently try to shift blame for the delays on me
- I protest with evidence
- they finally make an actual appointment to come over
- I tell them I charge ยฃ25 in case of no show
- of course they fail to keep the appointment
- I send them the no show invoice for time wasting

- they claim they were at my property but had no response
- their evidence: a photo of someone else's front door! Granted, EXIF data shows it was taken at the correct time, but certainly not in the right place.

And it's ME who is holding things up. Riiiiiiiiiiiight. ๐Ÿ™„

This attitude that my time chasing after these people and waiting around is somehow free of charge is utterly infuriating!

Meanwhile, I've been trying to make a GP appointment at my local surgery. Phone - it just rings. Online booking - not available. Personal visit - no appointments available till April ("Keep trying to call at 9am").
Online consultation form filled - 3 days later and no call back.

And people wonder why Techie is stressed and irritable.

Has the council bod shown up yet? - Don't be silly!

After nearly a week's wait, the GP finally responded to my online consultation form by text message this morning: "If you would like to discuss this matter further, please make an appointment" --- Well whaddaya think I've been trying to do for the past week...!?

OMFG

Council bod finally showed up this afternoon. - Presumably only because I sent a stinking complaint to his higher ups yesterday.

It took over an hour and the reinforcement of two other council bods to figure out the problem.

I just despair. I am literally surrounded by morons. ๐Ÿ˜

Another day, another nightmare. Plumber number 3 has chiselled away at my flooring, has dismantled various bits, finally found the leak - and promptly broke a valve in the process. ๐Ÿ˜’

FML

All hail plumber number 3! ๐ŸŽ‰
What a total trooper struggling through a long afternoon of failures and tidying up previous bodge jobs from others in the process.
Definitely keeping this one in the address book for future reference. Faith in humanity a little bit restored.
@eLearningTechie I feel your pain. Two weeks ago I actually got to see a GP in person, having first made an appointment in November (for January, the first they could offer me, which was inexplicably cancelled in December). While I was there I tried to book my six-month check-in with the diabetes nurse and was told 'there are no appointments... Try calling in a couple of weeks' ๐Ÿ˜ณ
@dresdeb It is utterly ridiculous! How is this in any way acceptable? I've been trying for a week now to get an appointment and not getting anywhere. ๐Ÿ˜
