Ed OReilly@krisSacrebleu Julius Caesar,just starting on TCM. Excellent version of the Roman's Man Who Would Be King - and didn't quite make it... Brilliant cast - Marlon Brando,John Gielgud and,perhaps best of all,James Mason who is a superb Brutus. But maybe they should have shown this on March 15th?....
@krisSacrebleu One of my favorite Shakespearean films. Wonderful cast,Brando,Gielgud,et al. But,after watching it again,it's still James Mason's Brutus that resonates with me the most. His Brutus is warm,human,fully three dimensional. And Mason,more than anyone else in the cast,speaks Shakespearean verse completely naturally,as simply normal conversation. It's a marvelous portrayal of "the noblest Roman of them all"....
