So, I wrote about *that* mask study. We need to stop giving so much air to bad faith actors. Their goal is to exhaust us and numb us into losing empathy and giving up. Masks protect ourselves and our communities. Let’s put that science into action.

Don’t believe those who claim science proves masks don’t work

A new scientific review of the efficacy of masks is deeply flawed. That hasn’t stopped some from touting it

@luckytran Including only two covid masking studies of course means they are lost in the influenza ones but the study is surely some evidence (taking into account all the provisos about limitations and data quality) that masks have limited effectiveness against influenza?
@lingon @luckytran Once I started spending time at my girlfriend’s place where her kids are I almost immediately started wearing basic surgical masks around them during cold & flu season if I was tucking them into bed etc and it did have some limited usefulness for sure. This was primarily to protect them from me, however. Right up until the beginning of the pandemic I also wore them in waiting rooms and on vehicles etc. Have since switched to proper 3M stuff.
