@verobeeee @jonjennings @604kev yeah I think I’m down to 8 friends on Facebook. Haven’t had the app or posted there in years. Don’t have anyone else in my circles who does - I keep the account around because I occasionally do some dev work that requires integrating with it.

@gabrielbauman @verobeeee @jonjennings I can't stand Facebook's UI/UX, it's so bloated and slow. Not to mention the spam, and far too many boomers posting obnoxious junk 😂 I keep my account for authentication purposes but otherwise I stopped using it.

Oh, and the toxicity of the local New West groups is gross :(

@604kev @gabrielbauman @verobeeee The "FB Lite" app is a little more responsive. But about 25% of my FB feed is sponsored/"suggested" (I have a TamperMonkey script to delete the suggested haha... although sponsored is harder). And Instagram is far worse.
And yeah... the local FB groups... hmmm. The only good one's the VH one... and only because of the moderators...

@mjlorenzi @604kev @gabrielbauman @verobeeee It's odd isn't it? Seems to go through phases unrelated to anything obvious I triggered. I suspect there's money behind it & not just FB's "benevolent" algorithm.

For the longest time 50% of my "suggested" content was pro-pickup and aggressively anti-EV.
Got me wound up enough to write a script to delete it all lol

@jonjennings @mjlorenzi @gabrielbauman @verobeeee even the non-algorithm posts, like stuff from actual people, are just white noise and spam on FB. It's such a worthless website.
