If you join my friend’s Discord, you get a lot more than just “my content”. I only gave that as a free lifetime sub to teach you the fundamentals.

You get to talk to, on a daily basis…

1. A scam buster that has a six figure price on his head
2. Several reformed black hat hackers, including one that owned several federal agencies and one nuclear aircraft carrier
3. A member of Red Cell from #ProsVsJoes from August 2022
4. Several #DFIR experts, SANS Certified
5. More than I can fit in this post

@TheSameCat Please talk to Daniel M. Kelley https://www.linkedin.com/in/danielmakelley/

The original TalkTalk Hacker. He owns the Discord.

@crackamphetamine will do. I'm shit at InfoSec, but I'm a 20 year C++ dev looking for a new field of obsession and InfoSec appeals to my paranoia. Anything you can think of that'd be good for a noob, send my way.

@TheSameCat Don't forget to follow him, he frequently posts on LinkedIn on open-source resources on hacking.

He is also on Twitter I believe, that's how I met him.

@crackamphetamine you on Nostr yet?
@TheSameCat what’s that?

@crackamphetamine decentralized social network. Like, truly decentralized. People run relays, but there is no account to ban. You're just an asymmetric hash. Messages are relayed by every relay you sub to. Popular with the crypto kids, but a lot of good folks and convos on there.

On Nostr: https://nostr.com/ (protocol)

I use Amethyst on Android, and Damus on iOS.
Iris.to on the web. (Clients)

I'm [email protected] if you check it out.

Nostr - Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays

@TheSameCat Awesome I will check this out. How viable is it for “Splinternet-attacks”? It’s for a paper I am writing for my Information Systems class

@crackamphetamine I would expect it to be pretty resilient to censorship, since relays can be thrown up and taken down with no effect on the operation of the network. It would be hard for even a state actor to keep up with that.

I imagine if deep inspection of payloads was being done, a big enough actor could theoretically try blocking the protocol that way.

@TheSameCat Yes I am reading the specs of NIP-65 and NIP-78 right now. Very interesting.
@crackamphetamine Let me know if you create a profile. I've enjoyed your content.
@TheSameCat sure but I’m about to have a few beers right now 🍺 🍻
