THIS is police assaulting protesters at USF in Tampa today. Protesters were opposing Florida dictator DeSantis's anti-diversity policies targettting all schools and universities.

The police chief was personally present and may have struck the first blow.

Like I said, cops are a gang and this may in truth be about Atlanta.

@ProfWords The feds support Cop City and will support anything DeSantis does to maintain control. The rules of engagement may have just changed. This is not peacetime and hasn't been since Dobbs

@LukefromDC I’ve done forensic therapy & have worked w a few real gang members.
They’ve always said they were just another gang.
I believe them.
Not a fan of the police especially given so many are detached from reality via Fox News & MAGAt insanity I find it hard to trust them.
Im an old white woman. But one time I was dragged out of my house, black, blue & bloody & stuck in a cell after my ex beat me up.

USF graduate here. The USF PD is one of the most militant campus PD I've ever encountered. They routinely ticket the highest in the county and so have been given a huge equipment budget which they spend on military cosplay. I am not surprised at all, but I am disgusted.

@Irick Those same cops would run up the white flag and show absolute cowardice if it ever becomes necessary to defend the university from a mass shooter. Cops are always cowards when it's guns...

@Irick Given that I got away with burning a Federal grand jury subpeona in front of the offending Federal courthouse in Sep 2018, surely some students could get away with burning those tickets.
