@DanielMenjivar @sewing Ah! That's a good point. Unfortunately I can't zig zag with this old Singer 66, but maybe I can just make a quick normal seam at the top and fold it twice as a workaround.
@rtn @DanielMenjivar @sewing Yes or make your seam then fold and iron again (encasing your raw edge) and whip stitch to final position. Sewing is a blast. I have particilar fondness for the French seam.

Ah, a fellow #FrenchSeam aficionado!! It's well worth learning if you don't have a serger or zigzag stitch because it means enclosing all of your raw seams so that nothing gets raggedy. However, I've learned the hard way that it's best to start with fabric that has a right side and a wrong side. I've sewn things backwards SO many times over the last year and a half when I'm trying to learn all about garment sewing. My seam ripper keeps busy.
@EllenInEdmonton @rtn @DanielMenjivar @sewing Been there! Now I pin and baste (ugh) but it helps. I love the look of the French seam. The things we get a kick out of, right?!!
