Glad there is public, legally available flight data on Elon Musk's private jet travel so journalists can do stories like this

Elon Musk’s Private Jet Travels More Than Some of the Richest US Billionaires

Musk's plane has flown the most among some of the richest US billionaires, with the frequency ramping up after he added Twitter to his portfolio of companies.

Bloomberg

@drewharwell Jesus. Musk flew his private jet from Hawthorne to LAX.

SIX MILES.

@msbellows @drewharwell Oh, the outrage. You have no idea why the plane flew six miles. Maybe it needed repairs at LAX? Hawthorne is a tiny airport with few rescources. Maybe it was time for jet maintenance? You all want to, need to, default to outrage even when you have no context.

And before you fire back with the usual response, no I’m not defending douche Musk who I can’t stand. What I can’t stand even more is stupid sensationalist articles by lazy reporters who think this bs is journalism.

@brianstorms @drewharwell That would be valid, except then why did he fly into Hawthorne instead of LAX in the first place?

@msbellows @drewharwell Because SpaceX's huge headquarters are literally right at the end of the runway in Hawthorne.

Also, no proof this person was on the plane. Occam’s Razor would say likely, sure, fine, but no proof merely from tail number logs. More context that completely escapes the permanently outraged and the media people who enable them.

@brianstorms @drewharwell I respectfully suggest that your crusade against the "permanent outrage" machine is well-intentioned but pointed precisely 180° in the wrong direction. It's like finding one Black guy who's angry a.f. against whites and concluding that both sides are equally guilty of racism.

@msbellows @drewharwell Spock: Captain, sensors detecting escalation.

McCoy: Here we go.

Kirk: Not today, Bones. Sulu, time to leave orbit. Warp one. Uhura, close all hailing frequencies.
