river@chrisisgr8 @rbreich I think there’s more nuance than that. They definitely highlight reactionary voices and have internal problems with transphobia that have been exposed. But they also do actual journalism, unlike fox (as evidenced by the recent child migrant labor expose).
@revoltthetruth @rbreich That's exactly what makes nyt so effective, and nefarious. Printing real news alongside far right rhetoric gives it legitimacy and an air of intellectualism. It's the difference between them and a conservative blogger; the NYT writes smart news for educated folks, so they must be onto something. It's very intentional
@chrisisgr8 @rbreich I could be wrong but I think this problem is currently isolated to opinion pieces. I could be wrong. But you’re 100% correct. I personally appreciate the NYT a lot but I am skeptical of everything I read.
