Just popped my head onto #LinkedIn and if there's a #SocialNetwork that can make the algorithm on Musky's Twitter look well designed it's that. Sooo much self congratulatory wankery and so many blindingly obvious statements dressed up as insight. Makes you feel like you need a wash after looking.
@puzzletrailpaul whenever a friend starts posting on LinkedIn I end up watching them turn into a douchebag in real-time.
@puzzletrailpaul I started a LinkedIn account last week after being made redundant. Its Horrific. The weird limit on networks and followers is just strange however the amount of emails I was getting was ridiculous and in the end I found it easier to close the account then I did to stop the emails.
The way it sets up how much people know about each other is also a GDPR nightmare
@Whiskeyomega @FrostPoem yeah, I'm only on there to tout my web dev services but even that gets too much sometimes. Not sure it's ever come in that useful to me but I know of other people who have got work from it, I guess it just depends what sector you're in.
@puzzletrailpaul So much this! I'm starting a search for jobs and everyone's telling me to go there, but I don't want to. It's so fake and clicky and just...not my style.
@puzzletrailpaul haha yes. I had an account for many years and thought of it as a living resume. But then I realized I had a safe job (sort of) and could do without the experts tripping over each other. Deleted and less anxiety now.
@Realeggs I think I might let mine go dormant again, it's an awful lot of work for little to no reward.
