Dan GoodinA reminder to all the hangers on still using the wretched bird site: Twitter was never a public square. It was the private property of a for-profit business that was beholden to no one other than its shareholders. Now it has been taken over by a sociopath. Get over it. Move on!
wesrolley@dangoodin There are more than a few active communities on the bird site that remain effective and much would be lost if not completely migrated together. Most are regional and single subject.

I wonder if people saying that it's too inconvenient for them to move off of Twitter would have continued to eat at lunch counters in the 1960s that refused service to black people. "Yeah, Woolworth's is reprehensible, but that's where all my friends eat. And besides, they have the best blueberry pie in town."
