@[email protected] I think the antisemite Corbyn has lost his chances at a political career. Corbyn will never have a chance on labour again. Fuck Corbyn.
@Hahahagida @RDHale I read the Wikipedia article on Corbyn as all I’ve known until now is what was reported upon in sound bites on the morning news . To my limited knowledge, Corbyn’s “antisemitism” is calling representatives of Hamas and Hezbollah “friends” in a meeting to bring about peace talks, and a handful of associations with later-confirmed antisemites or racists. Is there anything more to it? He seems not at all antisemitic in his governance or policies.
@morbeyn @[email protected] Why put it in quotes? Corbyn lost his career because he continued to deny his antisemitism. The entire German government except for communists and nazis condemned the antisemitic BDS as being antisemitc. The antisemite Corbyn still supports antisemites, and his denies dont change the actual antisemitism.
@Hahahagida @RDHale What’s BDS? I’m well out of my depth here, trying to understand. Again, if it’s not in that Wikipedia article, I don’t know it (and I’d argue I know little of what’s in the article too).
@morbeyn @[email protected] The antisemitic BDS is a propaganda campaign by the Hamas that they describe as "lawfare" of legal warfare and includes quotes from NSDAP propaganda from the 1930s and 1940s as well as quoting an antisemitic UN resolution from the Soviet Union form the 1970s. Basically a remix of old hate.
@Hahahagida @RDHale So again, Wikipedia on this, but I see nothing on the BDS (“Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions”?) page that I disagree with, as it’s presented. Rather than antisemitic, it appears to be an anti-ethnostate Israel movement, a view supported by credible academics and social figures. The distinction is important. The antisemitic label was a position pushed by the Trump administration. I don’t think we’ll agree on this, so let’s call it here. Thanks
@morbeyn @[email protected] Just again: the antisemitc BDS was declared antisemitic by Angela Merkel and the entire German government with the exception of marxists and Neo nazis. BDS is antisemitic. No discussion needed there.

@Hahahagida @RDHale That’s an oversimplification. Germany *must* be seen to take a hard line against even suggested antisemitic sentiment, for obvious reasons. I’m not saying it’s the *only* reason for such a judgement, just that it is such a convenient coincidence that Germany is the only nation to have any opinion.

Once again, criticism of Israel is not antisemitism. Judaism thrives outside of, and in spite of, everything happening between Israel and Palestine.

@morbeyn @[email protected] That is why German courts declare BDS antisemitic. But why would US, UK, Spanish courts declare BDS antisemitic if it was not. You are defending antisemitic hate speech.

@Hahahagida @RDHale You know what, I don’t know enough about this topic, and it’s outside of my area of expertise to research thoroughly. I’ll concede that BDS might be an antisemitic movement, and like all things Israel / Palestine; “It’s Complicated.”

As for being antisemitic myself, that’s only if you include atheism under antisemitism. I do not look down on Christians, Jews, Muslims, or Sikhs; To me they are all equally worthless.

I’m out. ✌️

@morbeyn @[email protected] You have been defending antisemitism. You say you dont know but do not accept facts. Antisemites like you are the problem.
@Hahahagida @RDHale We’ll just have to disagree. Going to 🤫 you now, this was yesterday’s headache.
