Dave Winer's linkblog in MastoAs a writer I think it’s as ludicrous to put a limit on the number of characters I use to express an idea as it is to say a Mozart opera has too many notes.

@dave From what I understand, there's no character limit on blog posts. The limit is only on how much of the post is shown on the timeline. A "More" link is exactly what is shown on the timeline when the post is longer than the said count of characters.
Sounds like a good trade-off to keep the timeline parseable and still support long blog posts.
