Don't let the #COVID19 deniers rewrite history. Nations that did more to prevent the spread of the virus did NOT suffer economically compared to those that did less. The data “do not support the popular proposition that countries that have been better at saving lives during the pandemic have paid an economic price.”

There is no clear economic trade-off for saving lives during the pandemic - Actuaries Digital

Contrary to popular belief, it seems that countries that have protected their residents better during COVID-19 have not experienced a worse economic outcome.

@augieray

Dead people have a hard time working, paying taxes and buying stuff to keep the economy running.

@augieray I must’ve missed that class in “How To Be A Human” school that taught it’s only okay to save lives if it’s economically profitable. 🙄 People are the worst.
@augieray I am not sure how you can make a pithy emotionally resonant sound bite out of that
@augieray at this point I’m less worried about the deniers than I am about the active downplayers and ignorers like our current administration
@augieray Even if saving lives had an economic cost, so what? It is amazing how many people turned out to be sociopaths.
