Subnautica is such a huge game. Been playing it (PS5 version) with my daughter since what seems like forever, and feels we’re half way through the game at best.

Mostly, it's great to be allowed to openly explore a massive underwater world. As we progress however, we've been seeing more of those moments where it's unclear what we should do next.

We considered 'cheating' and getting help from a walkthrough, but chose not to because of the sour taste game spoilers tend to leave.

After some consideration, I thought ChatGPT might be able to give us some clues in a situation that could get us through a stuck moment, but in a form that preserves the sense of unraveling a mysterious plot by making the best of fragmented clues and contextual cues, something that didn't feel like cheating.

The results were not too shabby.
