Ohh, there’s a new coffee grinder on the block. Fellow Opus. I always thought their other grinder looked huge. This one seems more compact.

Opus Conical Burr Grinder

Disregard, the new looks bigger.. 🫠
@stammy FWIW Fellow is the smallest footprint (good) grinder I've owned. Shorter and narrower than anything else. it's deeper than an Encore, but takes up less counter space in the end.
@stammy but it can do espresso now
@stammy my fellow kettle died after 13 months. Sadly wrote them off after that. By contrast my Baratza grinder is 8 years old and I just replaced the burrs but it’s working great. Nowhere near as pretty as this.
@stammy we have the Fellow French press and hot dang is that a nice product. This looks equally nice.

@stammy nice one!

Looks like a smallish size and ok price, and it looks amazing!

Though my hand grinder is good enough for me at the moment, this is tempting 🙈

@stammy How does it work? Is it just this little button on the bottom right and this huge handle for the grind size?
@julius @stammy yes just one button, with auto stop after 30/60/90s (Single/Double/Triple Click).
@stammy it’s a super interesting grinder. I assume the size is due to a larger motor (the grinder has way more torque to work with light roasted espresso beans as well). Unfortunately the case is completely plastic and not metall as the ode.

@stammy Pricier but I’m really happy with my Weber Key. Zero retention flat burrs, tiny footprint. Not perfect but pretty great!

The Key

@stammy I was surprised how large the Ode was when I got it. I think it’s because the kettle was also surprisingly small
@gn @stammy I have an Opus arriving Monday, excited to try it out. My first non-shitty grinder.
@stammy Looks so good! I wish they would make a white version for this. I'm interested to see how/if they fixed the chaff retention and static issues the Ode has. My experience with the Ode made me look elsewhere.
