I cannot figure out for the life of me why I'm suddenly addicted to the @somafm #Vaporwave channel...

And while I'm on the topic, a) #SomaFM is amazing, and b) they are ad-free and supported solely by donations. And just like your Fediverse instance, they live and die by those donations, so if you're a listener, or you just love their ethos and want to preserve free, high quality, well-curated internet radio, please support them!

Cancelling my Spotify Premium subscription and instead becoming a monthly donor to @somafm was an easy decision for me when I started listening to their incredible stations.

#SomaFM has been instrumental in my journey towards de-spotifying my life and becoming a more #ethical #music consumer. Even got my dad hooked on their amazing stations!

@koolaidwithkaran @somafm I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing myself. Between SomaFM and Bandcamp, my music consumption is pretty well covered. The only role Spotify plays for me, these days, is taste testing albums that aren't available on Bandcamp, as I really prefer to listen to an album a few times before I pull the trigger on a purchase.

I totally get it. That's something I've been trying to figure out myself. YouTube has been decent to sample some songs, but the full experience of the album is definitely a surprise until I get it lol.

I've also found my own consumption habits are changing without Spotify. I mostly listen to internet radio now and that's been cool.
