For instance, the 1st recommendations aren't in detail until page 19, under "Policies, guidelines, and implementing procedures".

There, SDOT recommends: Update guiding policies and procedures to reflect best practices

That's referencing the Complete Streets Checklist.

Here's the complete streets checklist: https://www.seattle.gov/documents/Departments/SDOT/PlanningProgram/CompSt_Checklist.pdf

If SDOT were serious this review would have updated that checklist as part of this review.

IF SDOT were serious, they would actually follow Complete Streets recommendations, not merely update the checklist.
There's also no timeline even for updating the checklist.

Another one that pisses me off: we know that what's happening right NOW is killing people. Yet, this review makes an effort to deal with shit that's not really happening yet.

"Advocate at the state level to maintain local control and permitting authority for new forms of transportation as they arise (e.g., automous vehicles)."

Don't get me wrong, self-driving vehicles are shit and shouldn't be allowed on our streets.

But that's not a recommendation designed to stop how Seattle is killing & maiming people NOW.

I don't trust the people who couldn't put in a protected bicycle lane on NE 35th to do the right thing w.r.t. autonomous vehicles.
