Kid has an old Asus A88XM-A based PC for casual gaming. Now the Radeon 6570 that was used, failed. I installed passive 6450 (office card with 2 DVI), but this is a step back.

So my question is: Are there cards with better performance for reasonable prices - like around €50? Are there recommended chipsets to watch out on the used market?

@mattias I bought a used AMD RX460 2 GB nearly 2 years ago for 50 €. Currently you can buy a used RX550 for 40 €.

@neuimneuland Looking around has shown some new RX550 for €60 and used RX580 at Aliexpress for 80–90€. I think, that's the way to go (RX550–580).

@neuimneuland I took a new RX 550 for €60 from an Ali seller that sold a few dozens for that prize before going up to €90. A used RX 580 pulled from a dead mining farm might also have beed nice, but would have meant to get another power supply unit and probably have to shell out another €25 for a set of fans soon as well.
