Working on Pixaki 5, my aim is for it to be:
1. Done quickly.
2. Practically perfect in every way.

Turns out I can’t do both and the latter keeps on winning.

@rizer you might've answered this before so apologies if so, is Pixaki 5 a free update from Pixaki 4? Or is it similar to the upgrade from 3 to 4? :0c I'm very excited!!
@digirhys Yeah, it will similar to the upgrade from 3 to 4, so a paid for upgrade. Good to hear you’re excited! :)
@rizer I know you may not know yet since you're still working on the update, but do you have a rough idea of the upgrade cost? And will it be the same cost whether you're a current v4 user or not?
@digirhys I’m not sure on the cost yet, sorry. The last upgrade was $6, so probably similar. Do you mean will there be an option to upgrade from v3 or earlier versions?
@rizer I might be misremembering, I thought the upgrade from v3 to v4 last time was cheaper for current Pixaki owners vs people buying it new πŸ€” but maybe it was the same price regardless.... Oh well! Not going to stop me either one come v5 lol
@digirhys Yeah, that’s right. Pixaki 4 for people buying for the first time is $27, and upgrading from v3 is $6.
@rizer gotcha, awesome! I appreciate the info. Do you plan on releasing a feature list when the update is closer to ready, or will that probably not come until the upgrade is already available?
@digirhys Yeah, I’ll probably mention what I’m working on over time on Mastodon. Everything is subject to change, but as a starting point I’m expecting to have a layered timeline, refreshed UI, and an iPhone version (which will probably be some kind of separate purchase).
